This album has one of the most arresting openings, hypnotic and beautiful, it is a stunning blend of soprano saxophone and ancient chant. Never mind the various hybrid of jazz and classical that are around, this one is the benchmark that all others will dream of being compared against. It's no surprise that it is used when people require an etheral moody opening for a show or an event - it was used at the opening of the Tate Modern, for instance. But be warned, it's highly addictive. If you have doubts if 'crossover' albums work, listen to this. I like the album - can you guess?
